Friday, the busiest shopping day of the year, was my first experience working retail. My sister recently got promoted to manager and didn't have enough help for the busy holiday shopping day, so we went in to give her a helping hand. Here I am at 6am getting ready for the day!
WTOP has an article about how officials seized 2,400 bottles of Jack Daniels late last month. Apparently, Tennessee law requires the whiskey to be destroyed if it can't be legally sold in the state. The article says that some of the bottles are almost 100 years old! They can't throw it away! The article says, "Punish the person, not the whiskey!"
While my foot is healing (after running sunday and monday with lots of pain, i decided i need to give my foot some serious time off) I've been spinning and riding the (yawn) elliptical. It's ok, but i like running because the scenery changes. Anyway, spinning is good but really hard and i hate it when the instructor says 5 more seconds, then we continue for 45 seconds. This morning the instructor was all about sprints and he kept doing that. Maybe that explains why his class was not even 1/4 full.
We had a bunch of the family over for lunch Saturday. Jason put 3 chickens on the rotisserie and a slab of ribs in the oven. We made some coleslaw, salad, pasta salad and I finished it off with a big homemade cheesecake. Here's jason cutting the chickens after pulling them off the grill.
