The day after

So i'm still feeling good today. After sleeping like a log last night, i woke up to find that my legs feel pretty good. Here's the problem though, my right foot feels like it is broken. I can't really put too much pressure on it, so i'm hobbling around my new office. I'll take it easy this week and see if it feels better for the goblin gallop this weekend!

ps i am blogging this from my totally cool iphone

Restaurant Review: Sweet Ginger

For the full review, read my yelp review.

Atmosphere: B+ (it's a little "cozy")
Bar: NA (we went for lunch)
Service: A
Food: A

Overall, Sweet Ginger was a really nice place for sushi. Usually in Tysons we go to Konami, but I'm not a big fan, so we were very happy to find this new place. We'll definitely go back.

Restaurant Review: Hook

For the full review, go to my review on yelp.

Atmosphere: C (jason and lisa both straddled legs of a ROUND table)
Bar: C (slow, but good european beer selection and good wine selection)
Service: B (our server was really nice, but food came out of the kitchen all wrong)
Food: C+

For a seafood restaurant, their only non-seafood entree (the grass fed black angus steak) was the best. Most dishes are served with risotto of some sort, appetizers, entrees, and even desserts feature risotto. Overall, the experience was not overly pleasant. I probably wouldn't go back, but from reading the other reviews, it sounds like our experience was out of place.

Big Week

So, a few things happened this week, the highlights are that I started a new job on Monday and I ran a half marathon today! So, now that I'm sitting on the couch trying not to move my legs too much, I thought I'd catch up on a few blogs.

My job is going well so far. I'll be starting with the customer tomorrow, so we'll see how it is when I start doing work!

The half marathon went pretty well. If you haven't heard me talk about it, check out more info at the Nike site. I ran almost the entire thing, which was more than I was intending. I ran 6 miles to my folk's house, my dad jumped out of the house and joined me for the remainder. He wanted a decent workout, so we ran the next 4 together pretty well, then I started losing some steam. I walked up a couple of hills, but finished the thing out running (albeit slowly!).

After I thought it would be great to get some breakfast at Rio Grande, one of my favorite sunday brunch destinations. Unfortunately, my body had some different ideas. My legs were getting stiff, which was to be expected, but I also got really nauseous. So, I ended up just laying down on the floor and hoping for the best. Jason went over to Potomac River Running and asked them if there was a special remedy to give me to make me not sick. They gave him some Endurox R4.

He came home with an individual pack of this stuff and some huevos mexicanos. After drinking that mix, (oh yeah, and paying homage to the porcelain throne) I suddenly felt better and started getting some energy back. I ate a little breakfast and am now able to sit up, move around, and blog to you.

So, after finishing, I felt pretty good. Then when I got so nauseous, I was thinking I would never run that far again. Now, after the magic pink mix, I'm thinking I could probably run that far again as long as that mix is close by for when I finish.
