Fun with the Tuckers
Saturday we went to Salisbury to show off the new ride. After checking out the car, we piled into the car and headed to Harpoon Hanna's for a birthday party. Jason's dad works with the guy, so we didn't feel too bad about sitting on the deck, eating free seafood, and drinking free draft beer. They had amazing crab dip and shrimp salad. Apparently, Jason spent a few hours here on his 21 birthday and you can see fireworks by sitting on the deck. I'm thinking we should head there for his birthday next year.
Next we went to the 14th Annual Berlin Fiddlers' Convention. Well, that was something. Jason's mom really loves bluegrass, but that love doesn't exactly run in the family. Luckily for both Jason and his dad, there was beer. Lucky for me, we had chairs and I didn't have to sit in bug infested grass. There really are interesting people that play in the convention. There are lots of families and near the end there was a girl that was amazing at playing the violin, her brother played a bass that was a box, and her dad sort of whispered what song they would be playing. The whole dynamic was very bizarre, but you could tell the girl loved being on stage with her violin. Hopefully, she'll be rescued from the land of bluegrass and get a shot to play somewhere cool.
