hello moto

while i was in circuit city i cashed in on the "new every two" promotion that Verizon has. basically if you care so little about technology (or cant afford cool shit), and can keep a phone alive for 2 years they will give you $100 credit to get a new one.

so i got this V710...
V710.jpg

yeah i got picture mail... go on brush your shoulders off...

processor cheese, you can make at home

so cosmo the cat decided to knock over a glass of chocolate milk onto stephs computer. gross. despite our best efforts to revive the machine, it has passed. and formed some kind of thick cheese like substance on the processor.

the hard drive is currently in ICU with tucker, trying to gather as much info from it as possible. think of it as the human part of robocop. being kept alive with wires and warm liquid goo.

good news is that machine sucks and we just picked up a new one.
compaq.gif
with any luck it will have flashbacks of its days BM (before milk) and we will go on with life never mentioning its previous existance.

got a really good deal from circuit city due to a misprice (big thanks-for-fucking-up pat to the moron who made the sign that was $150 below actual price). so all in all no harm no foul.

music baton

running with the musical baton. (from jtucker)

1. Total volume of music files on my computer.
weighing in at feather weight status with a total of 3.38 GB. this is what happens when i am out of the musical loop. but give me credit for having 4, 500 disc spools of music between car and home.

2. The last CD I bought was?
must have been a gift for someone, i do not buy music on CD. now if you are talking about the last albumn I puchased (thanks allofmp3), that would be
No Doubt - The Singles 1992-2003 (sadly enough)

3. Song playing right now:
Modest Mouse - World at Large

4. Five Songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me (in no order):
Kenney Chesney - Back Where I Come From
Modest Mouse - One Chance
Brad Paisley - Mud on the Tires
Dave Mathews Band - Oh
Phoenix - Victim of the Crime

5. Which 5 people are you passing the baton to, why?
i do not know 5 people with blogs that were not on the original baton passing.

in other movie news

i knew if i waited long enough i would not have to read the book!

Da Vinci Code teaser

childhood trauma, the sequel

damn you henson!! i just started to get that crawling skin feeling out of my system from that creepy talking buzzard.

darkcrystal2.jpg

for those of you that dont know, The Dark Crystal was one of those movies that just erked me as a kid. yes i know they are essentially muppets. yes i know they are not real. it was my mother, who would catch me peacefuly playing with my transformers and walk up behind me and do that creepy mmMMMMmmmmm noise. that would cause me to drop Optimus Prime and head for the hills, for even he could not save me.

stupid sequel

to do

finally back on, up, and runnin'

thanks to tucker and jessi for switching over and letting me freeload off their new service too. i have a sinking feeling that one day i will receive a large bill...

some topics over the past week or so. i will be posting on most of these, but if there is a certain story you just need to hear, let me know and i will move it up the totem pole.

May 11, 2005

oh no you DID NOT

basically everything in my "Fun" bookmark folder is now blocked

Gorillamask
Launch
DoubleViking
Gawker
TheSuperficial

even the rss feeds

it hurts too much to continue...

damn the man

always trying to hold me down.

"The Internet destination you have requested has been blocked in conformance with Company policy. See *link removed* for important information. Contact the Service Desk if this block must be removed in order to conduct *company removed* business.

No record has been made of this event."

so i get this message after trying to go to ask metafilter to find out how to burn a cd so that the car sterio picks up track title and artist. guess now i will never know.

which brings me back to the topic at hand. what the fuck! this company has never blocked any sort of content before and it has happened to me twice in the last 2 days. so one of them was for a male stripper ad (true story, i'll tell you later), but the other one was nothing. are we not old enough here in the top5 to know when we can and cannot look at porn at work?

when not to:
- when your boss is there
- during a WebEx presentation
- durring any presentation for that matter
- when you sit in a high traffic area (sorry bout the move Rance)
- in a meeting (unless your back is to the wall)

when to:
- in the morning
- in the evening
- in the bathroom stall (yeah wireless)
- when you sit in that perfect location where your monitor is not readily visible to any one using any of the 3 possible routes to your desk (dont lie, we have all tried for that perfect harmonious balance).
- when you have an office (although i would not know)

point being - don't dictate what pages i can look at. 99.9% of the shit i look at work is straight. most of it is definatly not work related however. but that is another post entirely.

lost sheep, this is BoPeep. come back.

as much as i want it to be good. i am afraid i will be terribly disapointed. about the only characters that seem to fit the part are:

Willy Nelson - Uncle Jessi
Burt Reynolds - Boss Hog
Jessica Simpson - Daisy Duke

the others are reaching.

without further ado (or any ado at all)... The Dukes of Hazzard

well, you really shouldn't i guess. i really dont even care that much, except for the fact that i like reading gorillamask. dude is pretty funny.

check out some pics from smithappens.com. this is where i used to live.

ah memories. never did get my website up and running...

www.naked@1430.now

Darts & Pats

another session of Darts & Pats

Pat...
a "you-kept-me-from-wachovia" pat to BB&T for waving the $68 overdraft charge when a couple checks went through way too early.

Dart...
a "damn-that-was-too-fast" dart to the water company who cashed that bitch in like a day.

Pat...
a "thanks-for-all-the-help" pat to the hoovers for staying up monday night and helping us get wedding invites done.

Dart...
a "crap-thats-too-heavy" dart to the invites that weigh 1.1oz, thus putting the postage over the $0.37 mark that is already on the envelope.

Dart...
a "damn-that-stinks" dart to the guy who blew up the 6th floor bathroom.

Pat...
a "way-to-go" pat to ice cold (me) for making this the 200th post!

table for one

there is such a stigma with dining alone. when you see someone sitting and enjoying a meal with no one to talk to you almost immediatly feel bad for them. why is that?

i for one enjoy eating by myself, but dont think i am not aware of your judging stare. i know what you are thinking. "poor guy has no friends", "i bet he is lonely", "what a looser", or "he must smell bad". some of those may be true, but you have to tickle the idea that the person may just want some alone time.

i have friends. though they may not be available during meal time, you will not find me scraping the bottom of the barrel just to have someone to sit across the table from. thats right my choice is alone rather than some co-worker who is too scared to brave the restraunt without that social blankie called company.

there are many reasons eating alone is better than with company. for example:
- no need to try to maintain conversation. i am concentrating on eating thank you!
- get in lots of good smokin. since you have no one to talk to there is a bit of akward time between ordering and eating. a cigarette can transform you from looking sad and alone to that guy who is enjoying his cigarette (and probably and alcoholic).
- the bill is all yours. you are not paying for your friends $8 hamburger with a side of wings, when all you had was a salad and the other person (of course) says "we'll just split it down the middle, it is easier that way"... bull shit its easier, had i known that i would have ordered 2 or 3 meals and had dinner the rest of the week on you.
- you get to do some good people watching. however, you need to be careful cause if you combine that with the chain smoking you tend to look creepy.

long story a bit shorter... i eat alone sometimes. you should try it too and stop judging.
